Darcy Wade, M.A., LPCC, RYT-200

My name is Darcy Wade. I am an artist, a daughter, a friend, a lover of nature, an adventurer and a wanderer on my own journey. I was born and raised in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina yet my soul adopted the Blue Ridge Mountains as home from 2009-2020. I recently relocated to Denver, Colorado where I am now exploring the magic of the Rocky Mountains that surround this creative city. I am most inspired by the wonders of Mother Nature and all the gifts and lessons she provides. I like to spend my days in my studio drawing and painting, or outside hiking and playing in the woods.

In 2013 I received my Bachelor's Degree in Creative Art Therapy with a minor in Studio Art. In 2019 I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy and a concentration in Body-Centered Therapy. I received my 200-hour Registered Yoga Instructor certificate in 2016. As of September 2020 I became a certified LPCC in the state of Colorado (LPCC.0017815).

Creative expression is my medicine. I enjoy painting, drawing, dancing, singing, drumming, writing and sharing. I believe that creativity is a universal language that all humans are born with. The arts connect and help us better understand ourselves, our community, nature, history, culture, spirituality, emotions and our entire universe. It is when I am creating, whether by myself or with others, that I feel most in touch with what it means to be alive and well.

My therapeutic approaches include, yet are not limited to, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Body-Centered Therapy and Ecotherapy. My clinical background is working with at-risk youth within Wilderness Therapy and Adventure Therapy settings.
